Greetings and leave takings is the material taught in the Novice level of vocational high school. This is gonna be the first material the students should learn before taking forward another material.

I look forward to see you soon, good bye

To be completely communicative, either in formal or informal situation, you can take a look at this simple note. In the real informal situation, such as when you meet your friend at school, you may use following utterances.

  1. Morning
  2. Afternoon
  3. Evening
  4. Hi
  5. How are you?
  6. How’s life?
  7. How are things with you?

Afterwards, your friends can respond using the following utterances:

  1. Morning
  2. Afternoon
  3. Evening
  4. Hi/Hello
  5. Fine
  6. Good
  7. Not too bad
  8. All right
  9. Pretty good

Meanwhile, when you meet your friend in a formal situation, you may greet him/her by saying:

  1. Good morning
  2. Good afternoon
  3. Good evening
  4. How are you?
  5. Nice to meet you

Of course, in the formal situation, they can respond by saying:

  1. Good morning
  2. Good afternoon
  3. Good evening
  4. I am fine, thanks
  5. Nice to meet you, too

When you meet someone, you will not be with him/her forever. Since you will eventually leave him/her. To make leave taking in formal situation, you may use following utterances.

  1. Good bye
  2. I look forward to see you soon, good bye

The responses of formal leave takings could be like these.

  1. Good bye
  2. Good bye

The last material in this part will be informal leave takings, such as:

  1. Bye!
  2. Bye for now!
  3. Take care, bye!
  4. So long
  5. Catch you later
  6. See you = see ya (soon / later / tomorrow / around)

That’s the simple greetings and leave taking material the students can learn here. You may also find the course or exercises in this blog. Thank you.
